Welcome back to UKshires, after an absence of a few years I have decided to bring the site back to life and revamp the layout.  I'm celebrating the grand reopening with a huge collection of photos from this year's National Shire Horse Show at the East of England Showground at Peterborough, I hope you enjoy the pics. 

I haven't been able to attend the Peterborough show since 2002 due to working jobs that never let me take time off at weekends, and clashes with other horse competitions, I've definitely missed it, and I'm glad to be able to attend again!.  I'm also starting off the new UKshires with re-uploading the photos from Peterborough 2002, and from Beamish Museum's ploughing competition from 2004 to get you started.

Later on I will move onto re-uploading all the old photos I used to have on UKshires, there are about 7,000 in total - most of the older photos were kindly shared with me by the photo and/or image owner back when UKshires was at it's peak, with people emailing me often hundreds of photos a week for inclusion. Unfortunately when the old UKshires server failed in about 2003 I lost a lot of information that used to accompany the photos, such as the horse's owners, location and bloodlines, and sometimes the horse's name, although I usually kept this in the filename.  If you have extra information for me, please email me with the image filename and let me know

I appreciate that horses change hands, and opinions change, so if you either find a photo of a horse that you now own that you do not wish to be shared, please email me with the filename of the image and I will remove it.  Likewise if you find an image that you previously gave me permission to use but now have changed your mind, please do the same.
