Scrapheapchallenge 2: GLSRi
This is the story of what happens when you take these two vehicles (plus parts from quite a few others) strip them all down and mix them together...
On the left is the original Scrapheapchallenge, 1.4i LS, also on the left in the 2nd picture, on the right is Scrappy 2, which started life as a 1.4i merit.
Click here to see the full story and photos of the progress of work turning a 1.4 merit into a 2.0i 8v frankenstein's monster.
Below: photos on the run up to, and at Performance Vauxhall Show 2007, Santa Pod.
above: de-badged (before t-cutting) and re-badged!
There's still much more to do with the car, plans include a reiger grille, smoked angel eye headlights, tidying up the engine bay with colour coding, possibly 4 into 1 manifold, full stainless GSi exhaust system, 60mm drop Gmax suspension, cavalier 130 management, some interior touches, new stealth shelf with 6 X 9's, and eventually a supercharger would be nice...
Thanks for everything guys - fitting the engine, letting us use the workshop and tools, the endless support and advice (and of course the hot chocolate!)
