Monaro the rescue mouse
I adopted Monaro (formerly "Mortimer") from Farplace Animal Rescue in County Durham, their website is: www.farplace.co.uk in September 2012.

Here he is at the rescue:
And here he is back at home - he's quite happy to be handled:
For those wondering where his name came
from, I'm a car nut - These are Monaros of various ages (I prefer the older
ones) made by Holden in Australia or Vauxhall in the UK:
More Monaro Mouse:
Above: one of the rotastak parts I bought new was faulty (a bed pod which wouldn't twist & lock like it should) so I contacted Rotastak who sent out a replacement, they also sent a complimentary pack of treat sticks for Monaro, here he is enjoying one :)
Above: playing in his bottom wheel, he is a fitness freak and will spend ages on the wheel, only stopping occasionally to groom his whiskers or to check that the door hasn't gone away! Just when you think he's finished he'll zoom up to the top of his habitat and start running on the top wheel! He also does chin-ups at the drum ventilation bars, he's a funny little fella.
Below: Monaro enjoying his "hayloft" - the bedroom pod filled
with hay he likes to nibble on, and recently, curl up in and sleep in :)

More Monaro:
And finally, the very last photo of Monaro,
taken a couple of hours before he was put to sleep by my lovely vet friend, at
home. All he wanted to do in his final hours was cuddle up to me, so that is how
he spent his last day - getting as many cuddles as he wanted, until he let me
know he had had enough. He snuggled in my hands whilst the oral sedative relaxed
him and took the pain away before he was put to sleep.
